Mojo Monkey was chosen as Minnesota's best for Food Network's 50 States of Donuts

Let us preface this blog post by saying, we aren't in the donut industry to collect accolades or recognition.  We ARE in the donut industry to try new things, mix unique flavors and create those smiles on the kids' (and adults') faces when they bite into something delicious.

That being said, we aren't afraid to brag a little bit when we are recognized for our hard work.  (We know, it's not like us as Minnesotans to brag).  

Recently, it was brought to our attention that a little outfit out of New York City, called the Food Network, which also has some offices in Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, Jersey City, Cincinnati, and Knoxville, Tennessee had named us to their best donuts (they spell it doughnuts) in America list.  

This was humbling recognition and made us blush a little bit.  As just a little shop on West 7th, we aren't accustomed to national recognition.

Mojo Monkey will be closed Sunday, July 5. We will return at our normal time—Tuesday morning.

Be sure to take advantage of the limited time delight: Red, White and Lemon Blueberry Bismarck donut. It will be available July 4 while supplies last (and for a few days prior to the 4th).

It's got a colorful look and at tasty bang of citrus. Wow!

Rick Nelson of the StarTribune made a list of the top twenty spots for a great breakfast in the Twin Cities. Mojo Monkey Donuts is happy to be part of the list! Thank you Rick! We encourage you to try them all (many are favs of ours too; others are now on our list of must-visits!)

Big Boom Bang and Whip-tang!

Explosion of flavor arrives June 10 in the form of our Red, White and Lemon Blueberry Bismarck. This special donut will be available everyday through July 6.

You guessed it--just in time for July 4! Ingredients include fresh blueberries and lemon. The bismarck is topped with red, white and blue striped pattern.

National Donut Day Is June 6

Help us celebrate!

Enjoy our Fresh Fruit Bismarck (only available through June 8). This slightly tart sweetie is filled with honey yogurt cream and orange zest then topped with cream cheese icing and fresh fruit.

Celebrate the Academy Awards with Mojo's Oscar Gold donut: a popcorn curd-filled bismarck topped with chocolate ganache and homemade caramel corn. Enjoy this special donut this Oscar Sunday (March 2) through the end of March.

A Mardis Gras Tradition

Can't be in New Orleans for Mardis Gras? No worries, Mojo Monkey has you covered. Fat Tuesday's most famous treat, the King Cake, can be enjoyed by those with a sweet tooth—whether they are in The Big Easy for Mardis Gras or not. Mojo Monkey is serving up King Cakes and beignets between now and Sunday, and Fat Tuesday (March 4). On Fat Tuesday Mojo Monkey is open 6:30-12:00.

Our West 7th St neighbors have an exciting event planned tomorrow, January 25. Schmidt Artist Lofts are excited to announced their open house from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This will be their first public tour of the finished Bottle House.

Artists and friends of the current 84 artists living and working at Schmidt are invited to enjoy refreshments and view great local art.

Free Donuts...Because It's Cold!

We're fed up with this cold! We believe hot coffee and donuts are always the answer, but here's a silver lining to brighten even your chilliest day:

Introducing the Arctic Special!

Take note when the "high" temperature, as recorded by the National Weather Service, dips below zero in St. Paul. Because the next day, when you purchase a dozen Mojo Monkey donuts, we'll tack on one free donut per sub-zero degree!

That means if the high in St. Paul on a Tuesday is -3°F, when you pick up your dozen donuts on Wednesday, we'll throw in an additional three donuts!

Hey, we've got to make something good out of this polar vortex!

Mojo Monkey is open late New Year's Eve so you can add a little sugar buzz to your celebration!

We've got some really special donuts for you to try:

Mimosa Bismarck with strawberry Italian buttercream -- we're calling this the 21 and over donut.

For the kids (and chocolate lovers out there)

A chocolate cake donut rolled in Oreos then topped in a chocolate mousse. Ha! For the kids.

We'll also have a Coconut curried bismarck and a "Kid"mosa donut hole with chai. Samples free until we run out. Kidmosas are made with gingerale and orange juice.
