Wild for Donuts - Mojo Launches "W" Donut to Carry Wild Through Playoffs

We're excited to cheer on the Minnesota Wild as they return to the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

Last year, we got caught up in hockey hysteria and created the"Dubnut" donut in honor of white hot goaltender Devan Dubnyk.  This delicious creation had a scoop of cookie dough blocking the 5-hole. It was brilliant and we think helped lead the team into the second round. (We're biased)

It's been a team effort this year so we will not be highlighting any one player. Rather we will have the Classic Raised Glazed "W" with team colored frosting.  This "W" is for Wild, for Win and for What are we gonna do when we win the cup!

"I know baking, but I'm learning hockey and I'm really excited to once again pair them up to celebrate the Wild playoff run and give Wild fans a delicious donut." said Lisa Clark, Owner of Mojo Monkey Donuts.

The "W" donuts will be available on Thursday when the Wild open their first round series against the Dallas Stars and will be available daily until they are eliminated or, better yet, win the Stanley Cup. (Note:  we are closed Mondays)

Order them in bulk for the office on game days (we love when you call ahead - (651) 224-0142) or mix and match them with our other delicious donuts.

Mojo Monkey will be closed Sunday, July 5. We will return at our normal time—Tuesday morning.

Be sure to take advantage of the limited time delight: Red, White and Lemon Blueberry Bismarck donut. It will be available July 4 while supplies last (and for a few days prior to the 4th).

It's got a colorful look and at tasty bang of citrus. Wow!

National Donut Day Is June 6

Help us celebrate!

Enjoy our Fresh Fruit Bismarck (only available through June 8). This slightly tart sweetie is filled with honey yogurt cream and orange zest then topped with cream cheese icing and fresh fruit.

Our West 7th St neighbors have an exciting event planned tomorrow, January 25. Schmidt Artist Lofts are excited to announced their open house from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This will be their first public tour of the finished Bottle House.

Artists and friends of the current 84 artists living and working at Schmidt are invited to enjoy refreshments and view great local art.

We're fed up with this cold! We believe hot coffee and donuts are always the answer, but here's a silver lining to brighten even your chilliest day:

Introducing the Arctic Special!

Take note when the "high" temperature, as recorded by the National Weather Service, dips below zero in St. Paul. Because the next day, when you purchase a dozen Mojo Monkey donuts, we'll tack on one free donut per sub-zero degree!

That means if the high in St. Paul on a Tuesday is -3°F, when you pick up your dozen donuts on Wednesday, we'll throw in an additional three donuts!

We're Taking a Vacation!

The good news: We are pleased to announce that owner, Lisa, will be taking a much-needed vacation.

The less great news: This means Mojo Monkey will be closed for a couple days and reopen on Thursday, September 5.

We have been looking forward to this vacation for a long time. We can't wait to come back rested and recharged!

Last weekend we collaborated with Summit Brewing Company and released three special donuts for National Donut Day.

You loved the beer/donut combination so much, we stopped over to the brewery this week and picked up more bottles. After further experimentation, we've got three more frothy variations for you this weekend—just in time for Father's Day.


Take Dad to Mojo and let him pick between the Beer Maple Bacon Bar, the Berry Red Velvet and Red Ale, and a special Old Fashioned Banana and Summit Northern Porter confection (topped with caramel glaze and toasted coconut)... or try all three while supplies last!

National Donut Weekend a Success!

Last week we test baked new donuts for National Donut Day. We infused some of our much-loved Mojo donuts with beer from our friends at Summit Brewing Company: Beer Batter Yeast Maple Bacon Bar, Beer Batter Ring with Porter Chocolate Glaze and Popcorn and a Chocolate Cake with Porter Beer topped with beer glaze, caramel and popcorn. Got all that?

Thanks to all of you who replied on facebook and to us in the bakery when we asked about being open or closed on Sunday. You all encouraged us to take the day to be with family. Good News. Bad News. GOOD NEWS!

Mojo Monkey has been invited to speak at a national convention. We're being asked to talk all about our wonderful success, delightful treats and path from day one to today. We feel really privileged!

Really this is because of you, our excellent customers. All your suggestions, regular visits and how you have been so good about telling your friends and co-workers...(welling up with tears)...has made the difference.

I started this as a small business—my daughters inspired me. I bake each morning excited to provide sweet moments for you in your busy day. I also bake because I'm excited about getting home in the late afternoon to hear about the school day and share a meal and maybe a movie with my daughters.

So I'm very happy that they can come with me to the convention, and we can enjoy this celebration of our success together.

That's the good news.

The bad news (I'm sorry!) is that, because of the convention, we will be closed Tuesday, February 19 and will not be open until our normal Saturday, March 2. Yes, this is ten business days—a gillion donuts and (surprisingly) half-a-gillion donut holes—away from each other. Will you forgive us? We hope so.

Now for the GOOD NEWS:

Starting in March you can have Mojo Monkey Donuts delivered! We've worked out some really sweet deals during a pilot project over the past few months. So stay tuned for more news about delivery and...

Fryer is Tired! Mojo Comforts Key Kitchen Friend.

We are guessing that today must be National Take Your Fryer Out To Lunch day since ours has decided that it needs the day off. Repair teams have been called, professionals consulted and a diagnosis is on the way shortly.

As we pause for the day our team is reflecting on the hundreds of dozens of donuts that we've produced  since opening in the Fall of 2011.

Thank you little fryer, thank you.

UPDATE: Whew, we just needed some help running through a reset of the fryer's hood. All's well. Of course it would be a problem with a hoodie!

Special Holiday Season Hours

We’re not usually open on Mondays, but we want to be sure you have delicious treats for Christmas morning and New Year’s Day! We will be open Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve until 6:00 p.m. We will be closed December 25, 26 and January 1.

Gobble Gobble! Thanksgiving Hours and Specials

Mojo Monkey will be closed on Thanksgiving and the day after (November 22 and November 23) so our staff can spend time with their families. In order to keep you full of donuts for those two days, we will be open until 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving eve (Wednesday, November 21). We also have a few special treats for you.

• Try our very special Donut Strata! It has red pepper, broccoli, gruyere, potatoes, raisins, almonds, maple syrup and sausage (there’s a vegetarian option too). It is fully cooked and ready to reheat and serve—perfect for Thanksgiving morning. A full pan feeds 6 to 10 and is $22. Interested? This is a pre-order only item, so call us. 651.224.0142

• The day before Thanksgiving we’ll have Cranberry Bismarck with a Squash Cream Cheese Icing that is topped with roasted fig, filberts and fresh cranberries. We’ll also have a Brandy Vanilla Pastry Cream Bismarck with a Dark Chocolate Buttercream Icing (this one is for the 21+ crowd!).
